In order for your child to receive personalized instruction, it will be necessary to follow the correct sequence of activities within Compass.  Please note that you need to look for folders that begin with OSE. 
1.  Take the pretest designed to assess your child's knowledge of a specific set of standards or indicators.




2.  Begin the customized Learning Path, which has been created based on the results of the pretest.





3.  Check your child's "backpack" to monitor daily or weekly progress.





4.  If an "Exit" button appears, be sure to click on it to complete an activity and save the activity's data. 

In order to save your child’s data, please remember to click on the blue or grey “X” when logging out of Compass.  If you simply click on the red "X" to close the website, your child's data will not be saved.
The "X" will appear blue while viewing your child's "Launch Pad".


The "X" will appear grey while viewing your child's "backpack". 

Unfortunately there is no exact way for a parent to check hours, only completed assignments.  Assignments usually take students about 20 minutes to complete.  Based on the # of assignments in your child’s bookbag, you can determine how long they have been on the program that day.
